To celebrate 50 years since Concorde’s first passenger flight, The Royal Mint has released an official UK 50p, honouring the aircraft that brought the future to the runway.
21 January 1976 marked the moment Concorde entered commercial service and changed air travel forever. Sleek, unmissable and built to cruise at over twice the speed of sound, it carried passengers into a new era – one where the Atlantic could be crossed in just a few hours.

Reverse design by Osborne Ross, featuring the iconic aircraft traversing the globe, with its name spelled out in departure board-style typography.
Produced in partnership with British Airways and Airbus.
